The SD-150 Hero is a short-range Rotary Unmanned Air Vehicle (RUAV) developed by Leonardo to meet the requirements of military operators such as the Italian Navy as well as those of civilian operators. One or multiple Hero rotorcrafts can be controlled by single SW-4 Solo ground control station (GCS). The main purpose of the Hero RUAV is to provide surveillance for over five hours operating from ground or sea-based platforms. The payloads, carried inside two nose/underbelly modular internal bays, include electro-optical sensors as well as Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)/ Inver Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR). It is powered by a single two stroke two cylinder engine developing 50-hp.
